Today a boy was drowning at the beach; the waves were very rough. We asked the security guard at the pool if there was a lifeguard, and he said no (it was 7:00 PM, so that's understandable). We asked if there were any life jackets or floats available, and he said no. Later, someone came out of the beach club with a float. Obviously, they must have them, and they did, since they have a pool and it's mandatory, so I don't understand the ignorance of that security guard and his refusal to lend it to us. His behavior was deplorable.
